Can I skip the initial automatic calibration?

I just got my Snapmaker 2 and ran into the known problem of the 3D print head digging into the print bed. I made sure the unit is assembled correctly (yeah, had the platform upside down), moved the probe sensor, updated firmware to 1.10.0, and did the M502-M500-G28 combo from a laptop.

Nothing helped, and because it’s the initial setup process, I have no idea how to move forward.I understand that there’s a manual calibration option, but I have no idea how to get to it when I’m forced to do automatic calibration.

Any ideas?

If you just want to skip the initial setup of 3d printing, switch the tool head to laser.
Then is it possible to update the firmware.
Hope this helps!

Thanks. What this highlighted for me was that I didn’t check the sensor light. It indeed doesn’t seem to come on, so I’m guessing that it’s faulty.

Thanks, but as I said I already updated the firmware. I noticed that it’s enough to not plug any print head, and then the screen goes to a file browser. I could then update the firmware from USB.

Hi ET3D, @Edwin can help you with a faulty unit. Sorry about the issue you have run into.

Hi @ET3D,

Please upgrade the firmware to version V1.8.0 or above, and you can turn off the fast calibration and auto-calibration.

I think you need to confirm if the probe sensor works as shown in the article.

Hi, @Edwin. As I said in my initial post, I’ve already updated to V1.10.0. That doesn’t allow getting past the initial calibration step.

Anyway, I see no red light, so I think that the probe sensor isn’t working.
