I received my U1 this week. After setup and calibration, I also flashed firmware V1.0.0 and recalibrated it again.
However, my printer has an issue during printing when changing tools. I printed the small dragon that comes with it, and during the print, there were repeated Z-axis misalignments. See the pictures.
As you can see, this doesn’t happen all the time. The first few layers look fine, starting just before the neck and up to just above the mouth. The rest, starting from the eyebrows, also looks okay.
When printing monochrome models, there is no problem at all—on the contrary, I’m more than satisfied with the print quality.
Unfortunately, I won’t have more time to look into this in detail until next week.
Has anyone else experienced this issue before and possibly has an idea where the problem might lie?
Judging from your photo, I don’t think it’s a Z-axis issue or a slicer setting—it looks like the XY motor steps are wrong. Please contact tech support for a check.
Sorry for the late reply, but I just got back home.
First, the good news: the problem is no longer present.
The less good news is that I can’t say what caused it. I installed the current firmware V1.1.0, and the error disappeared. I can only speculate that it might be related to the improvement: “Adjusted Z-axis motor current parameters to increase Z-axis output torque, improving print quality issues caused by insufficient torque.”
