Hi, my Snapmaker 2.0 A350 will only move in one direction in the Y-Axis:
Any ideas ?
Thanks, Kevin
Hi Kevin
The bed is the Y axis and it certainly doesnāt sound good. Can you move the bed by hand when the power is off. Maybe one of the linear modules is faulty, Iād take the bed off completely so that the linear modules can run independently.
Thanks for your reply - you are right it is the Y-Axis.
The bed does move by hand when the power is off.
I removed the bed completely - same result. I am wondering if it could be a faulty controller ?

Kevin
Hi Kevin,
I have a similar issue.
Mine is the Z direction only moves down. I have tried different configurations of wires and ports on the controller to determine wires and linear modules are all good. I have also connected the controller to a computer using Luban software.
Does your panel indicate (change number location) when you jog the bed? Mine believes it has moved even though it has not.To me this suggests an issue with the controller port or firmware configuration for the controller, I have a support request pending.
Hi
Issue is similar. Swapped X and Y cables in the controller and problem remained with the Y Axis linear modules only moving in one direction.
I also swapped the converters just in case but same result.
Seems to be pointing towards faulty linear modules, but I am waiting for snapmaker support. Maybe there is more troubleshooting that can be done from the controller ?
Regards
Kevin
Hi Kevin,
Based on your test results, it looks like our issues may be different. You might want ro disassemble the platform off the 2 Y linear modules and test them independently.
My issue is more likely the controller port for the Z axis. I believe my testing has shown all cables, connections and linear modules work in both directions if the correct signal from the port is given.
Good luck and let me know if you hear anything and get working!
Best,
C88
Thanks - will post an update when I learn more.
Hi Kevin,
FYIā¦
I got a message from Snapmaker support (Potter). He requested to connect via a computer and send a screenshot of Luban command screen after giving code M119 -āGet Endstop Statusā.
I found a Z endstop triggered and searched the web for Snapmaker 2.0 and this issue and only found:

A quick update on the issue.
After plugging in each individual linear module to the controller, we determined that it was one particular linear module that was causing the problem.
Support have acknowledged the issue and a replacement should be on the way.
Kevin,
Itās good you were able to figure it out. Was it the endstop? What were the steps taken to determine the problem?
Thanks and good luck.
Hi,
it seems this may be an returning issue as I have this as well. It stopped working from one day to another, leaving me with a very loud noise and a non moving bed in the y axis. I already took a closer look at both linear modules. I did - so far - only open up the the top screws holding the thin metal stripe for once and the front (without the cable) black plastic cover. I couldnĀ“t see anything disturbing in both modules⦠I guess, I will try to check the other side with the motor seeing wether there is something āblockingā. I read it somewhere this could be a magnet-issue.

Thank you for providing the link, it allowed me to fix my issue with Z only moving down. I pulled both upper caps, pushed both switch levers and heard an audible click. Powered up and was able to move Z in both directions, put the caps back on, and now fully functional.
Ron - Yes, my system is working and I am glad the link helped. In my case, I only unscrewed the machine screws ~1/2 a turn and the trigger cleared. Snapmaker support asked me to take the end cap off to confirm the switch was clear.
So I am having this same issue with a SM 2.0 linear module. At the risk of sounding like an idiot, do you know if this would work on that module as well?
Unfortunately almost two months and several support tickets later, I am still in the same place. Snapmaker Support (Tracy) claims that a replacement linear module was shipped at the end of September but nothing ever arrived.
The tracking number sent with the shipment is useless because the package itself is not tracked. I followed up with PostNL and they confirmed that the package is not trackable and probably lost.
In the meantime I asked support about why they shipped such a critical item to a customer without even tracking the parcel⦠and zip. I asked for a replacement⦠and zip I sent more reminders⦠and⦠zip.
I am VERY disappointed with SnapMaker. Having backed the project from early on I was prepared to wait a bit until the units were in production. Then I understood that covid messed things up so I waited more. But now this is too much.
I have completely lost my faith in a company that is more interested in taking your money than earning it.
