X asis won't lower

I’m new here and I’m sure this has been asked a million times, but here we go again.

I have assembled my machine and have the axis moving, I just can’t get the x axis to lower. I am trying to print the phone holder from the case library. I figured I would start with something that already had all the numbers correct. It moves as if it is printing, but the x axis is still at the top.

Can someone tell me what I am doing wrong?

Thanks,

Debbie

Technically the x-axis doesn’t lower, it moves left to right. The z-axis is what moves up and down (although yes, it is lowering the x linear module).

9 times out of 10 this is a user assembly problem.
Make sure you have the right linear modules in the right places. With the original linear modules they were all interchangeable. With the new ones the z modules (the towers) are different. They’re marked Lead 8mm. The x&y are marked Lead 20mm.
With power off triple check your cables are plugged in to the correct places. Unplug them completely and reseat them.

Also, have you updated the firmware? With the new modules you’ll get some strange behavior if you haven’t.

S,

Thanks for the reply. Have rechecked the cable and they are in the correct places. Have updated the firmware and the Z modules are Lead 8mm.

Everything else is working, but I can’t get the z module to work.

Thanks,

Debbie

Did you try unplugging the cables and plugging in again as sdj544 said, sometimes the cables don’t quite seat properly - especially where the cables go into the combiner where access is difficult.
