What are the rules of thumb with various calibration and 3D print settings in Luban?

Here you are Mouriana.

I hope this helps you

I just felt like there were too many things to discuss to try to keep typing everything out.

Let me know if you have other questions

My 2 cents… I am only going to comment on 2 points which are only slightly related as so far I have only worked with PLA, but I did have my fair share of issues and I believe I have it working consistently to my satisfaction now.

  1. You can quite effectively speed up the work “on the fly”. I do this obviously not on the first layers, but when the printer is doing infill across large straight lines, for instance think of a big box where infill in the base involves running across practically the whole bed, numerous times. I have found even 300% is achievable with little impact on quality. But of course you need to be close to the printer to slow it down when the time comes.

Which brings me to…

  1. I have installed Octoprint and I have to tell you it is a game changer. No more getting up to check if all is going well. I can watch on my laptop or on my mobile or even from outside my home. I now intend to add more cameras all around (both inside and outside the enclosure) so that I have more thorough monitoring including of the power supply unit. I will complement this with a SONOFF switch which will allow me to turn the switch (and all power) off remotely should anything go wrong or should the print job be complete in the middle of the night or when I am away. Highly recommended.

Ok I will add a quick comment on the printing. For PLA I am using nozzle at 200 degrees Celsius and bed at 60 degrees Celsius. I get no stringing and I suspect your issue with PLA + is temperature related.

Good luck and let us know how it goes.
