We are happy to share that the Snapmaker Support Center has been updated. For users who have already received your U1, it is a convenient place to access the latest resources. For those who are still waiting, you can explore the information in advance.
The U1 Support page includes:
Software and firmware for download
Snapmaker App for iOS and Android
Wiki resources including FAQ, manuals, maintenance, troubleshooting, and replacement guides
Video tutorials to help you get started, calibrate, and troubleshoot
Not sure if this should be a new post, or just a reply in this Support Center. Let me know.
I notice on the Snapmaker Github site there is a zip file called ‘orca_custom_preset_tests.zip’. If I download this and look at it, I see a HUGE selection of json files for all the filament brands I use (and more). Can I just add these to my Snapmaker Orca 2.1.1?
I notice the file has ‘….tests’ in the name. So, are these not validated for the U1 yet?
I would really love to take advantage of this extensive list of filament profiles, but don’t want to 'jump the gun’.
Annoying that the U1 screen has Polymaker listed but when selecting in SnOrca you need to use a Generic profile… Is this part of the “tests JSON” and after testing is complete we’ll see those in SnOrca?
Added selective flow calibration. Users can choose specific toolhead(s) to perform flow calibration, avoiding redundant calibration on already calibrated toolheads to reduce preparation time.
Added QR code guidance to certain error message pages. Users can scan the QR code to access the official solution for the corresponding issue, enabling faster troubleshooting.
Added support for additional official RFID filament types.
Improvements
Optimized cooling fan control logic to reduce fan noise from idle toolhead(s) during printing.
Improved the AI defect detection model to reduce false positives.
Optimized print time calculation logic. The duration shown on the print completion page now reflects the actual printing time, excluding paused time.
Adjusted Z-axis motor current parameters to increase Z-axis output torque, improving print quality issues caused by insufficient torque.
Added a medium sensitivity option to the filament tangle detection feature.
Optimized the UI display for storage space management.
Auto-Refill is enabled by default after updating the firmware.
Bug Fixes
Fixed an issue where the firmware could shut down if the start G-code did not include a layer count command.
Fixed an issue where the nozzle temperature could be modified unexpectedly during pre-extrusion.
This is the second firmware update in a row where my U1 with the hardened 0.4mm nozzles installed has repeatedly failed to complete the bed leveling calibration after the update, error code 0003-0530-0002-0008. In both cases, doing a factory reset and going through the entire first-time setup process again resolved the problem and got the printer working again. I’m not 100% sure this is caused by the updates, it could just be a 2x coincidence and there’s some other issue causing this. Is anyone else having problems with bed leveling after applying firmware updates?
The issue appears to have been caused by the hardened hot-end installed in tool 1. Removing it and reinstalling the stock hot-end got me 3 consecutive successful bed level runs. With the hardened hot-end removed, I could see a small but apparently significant scratch in the copper plate on that hot end, so I swapped it for the one in tool 2. Again, 3 consecutive successful bed level runs.
