Hey simon, does the standard 1.2 fw include the pogopin fix from the beta 1.2 or will that be incoming?

Can you elaborate on the pogopin issue you mentioned? I don’t seem to recall that.It would be even better if there is a post link.

For detailed firmware update content, when you update on the machine, there will be more detailed release notes.

There appears to be an error in the 1.2.0 firmware. The ā€œCavityā€ thermistor reads totally wrong values, usually in the -30° to -40° range.

Restoring the 1.1.0 firmware immediately fixes the issue.

Edit: Okay, nevermind. Seems to be a fluke… once I rebooted the printer on the old firmware, the issue remains. Seems like I may have a defective cavity sensor?

ok!!!

Snapmaker Orca V2.3.0

Snapmaker App V2.3.0:

Just an update on this: It turns out that apparently the cavity thermistor plug was not seated properly. I was able to reach in to the mainboard from the leadscrew opening and push the plug back in, which fixed the problem so far.

Snapmaker Orca V2.3.1

Snapmaker App V2.3.2:

Hi everyone,

We pushed a hotfix update for Snapmaker Orca slicer (V2.3.12) on April 16 at 7:10PM China time.

This version is a hotfix update based on V2.3.1.

This update fixes an issue on the ā€œPrint Preprocessingā€ page: when more than 4 preset filaments were available, users could not select the excess filaments to match with the mounted filaments on the device.

If you’ve run into this issue before, please update to the latest version when you can and check again.

How to update:

  1. Restart the software: Restart Snapmaker Orca.

  2. Automatic update detection: If the Configuration update dialog appears, click OK. After the configuration package is installed, restart the software to complete the update.

  3. Manual update check: If the update prompt does not appear automatically after restarting, go to the top navigation bar and click Help > Check for Web Resource Updates. In the Configuration update dialog, click OK. After the configuration package is installed, restart the software to complete the update.

If anything still doesn’t work as expected after updating, feel free to reach out to technical support and include your machine information and Orca logs so we can take a closer look:

https://snapmaker.formcrafts.com/u1-troubleshooting-request

For those using the Full Spectrum branch of Snapmaker Orca, updating the configuration should resolve the same issue as well.

Thanks to everyone who reported and helped surface this issue in real-world use.

Really nice to see a quick response and hotfix to the issue…although I will say that the issue was not only for multiple colour prints but for all prints (in my experience anyway). Doesn’t really matter but thought I’d mention that just in case it reoccurs.

Cheers

Love that multiple Nozzle sizes has been implemented :sign_of_the_horns::sign_of_the_horns:Super excited about this and waiting ā€œpatientlyā€ for the 0.2, 0.6, and 0.8 bundles!

You can buy as OEM already at Aliexpress, for example here https://s.click.aliexpress.com/e/_c3GIS1nj.

I have tried the set of 0.2 nozzles and works very nice.

Very nice. I’ve never ordered from Aliexpress and for now I’ll wait for the Snapmaker sets to ship. The price is good on Aliexpress so if I do get impatient maybe I’ll give em a shot :sign_of_the_horns::sign_of_the_horns:

Bug: The printer asks me to clean the pogo pins every ~2 days. I initially took it seriously and cleaned them with a dry cloth with alcohol. But 10 minutes ago, after finishing my print, it threw me that error. Thus, I tried gently pushing each pogo pin with my thumb. And guess what? It worked as if I cleaned them. It must be a bug, right?

Firmware version: 1.3.0

P.S.: I’m still only using the filaments given with the printer, if that helps.

A week or so ago, my 0.6 nozzles arrived from Aliexpress. I fitted them, no problems, except fiddly cable routing, (a bit more space under the extruder cover, would be better). I created a copy of the printer profile in snapmaker orca, spent some time creating profiles, and it worked fine. Exactly one day later, Snapmaker released their updated slicer, including the new range of nozzle sizes  .

Not sure if this is where to put this… Updated to 1.3.0 tonight and Klipper’s time is days off; not minutes or hours, but days! It does seem to be catching up but I’ve not seen this until this update.

If you have any questions, feel free to share them here. However, I don’t quite understand the issue you mentioned—could you elaborate?

That has pretty much always been the case: The reason is that the ā€œFileā€ time is extrapolated only from how far in the Gcode the printing currently is. If you have a big first layer, it will start very high, because it thinks the entire file is as slow.
The slicer of course knows the entire print from the start, which is why the slicer time tends to be more correct at first and both times should converge towards the end.

In reality, the ā€œSlicerā€ prediction is usually only a few minutes short of the actual time for me.

I got it!

It is the difference in the displayed times between these two that caused your confusion. I think what @hho said should be the reason, but I will also ask the software department whether it can be optimized.
