Quick Swap kit is saying it is not installed

Having got my QSK, promptly installed it. Mounted the DX…all good. Was on 1.16.7 firmware already, so no update required, hence just went to tell the machine that the QSK was installed on the touchpad. Clicked Installed and Save and don’t prompt me again…it rehomes. I go back into the QSK menu…and it save it is not installed !. So, power down, retry…same thing - it will not save the self attested fact it has the QSK. Upgraded to v1.17.17…same thing. What am I missing ?
Trying a calibration fails as it thinks I have the head affixed to the incorrect mounting holes…but assumingly that is because the bed is higher due tot he QSK.
I was all excited to use the QSK after waiting 3 months !

Does Luban know you have it installed in the 4.9 update make sure you reconfigure your machine with the new menu items including the nozzle size and type, also in that menu is the check box for the QSK, so the software doesn’t tell the machine its lying to it, hope this helps

I have gone into Luban and told the Machine Settings, that is has the QSK. That saves, and is no issues. Simply, I have not got that far to send a print to it from Luban, as I simply wanted to re-calibrate first…that fun awaits. I don’t see any way that the SM2 hardware itself knows the QSK is installed, as there are no sensors for it…I think the setting on the touchscreen is so the machine can make internal compensation for the various offsets. Just wish it would save !

Maybe try firmware reinstall with disconnected toolhead over usb thumb drive.

Alternatively, use other toolhead and see if it could be saved.

Resetting machine settings by M502 and M500 could be a solution, but maybe save your tweaks first?

Support ticket logged…and it is a confirmed bug in the menu system not showing your choice. I you look at the main status screen, there is a green globe next to the QSK Installed. So all good

As for levelling…not seemingly related to the QSK. Re-applied v1.17.17 firmware and all seems good now - printing merrily away with the QSK installed
