Quick Swap kit status - need to set it all the time

Hi,

i have installed quick swap kit recently, and facing a small but annoying issue. Since the SM2.0 needs to know whether the Quick Swap Kit is installed, there is a toggle for “Quick Swap Kit install status” in Settings.

However, whenever i change a tool head, it always reverts to “Quick swap kit not installed”, and i must set it back to “Quick swap installed” every time after swapping toolheads. Is there any way to persist “Quick Swap installed” as default? I am on (current-latest) Nov 3 2023 software

Hello!

Its a bug in the firmware, I and other users have the same problem too. Every time you go to this menu it shows “Quick swap kit is not installed” but the machine will save it when you set it to “installed”.

Greetings

For me, the start screen is relevant: If a green dot indicates that the Quick Swap Kit is installed, I do not bother to go into the settings menu. For me, that status survives tool head changes.

Oh, yes thats a good idea! Thank you.

ooooh, thanks for the helpful responses.
I ll rely on the info on start screen then as well.

Thanks @DKH666 @Hauke Awesome!

Is this like that firmware update that required each toolhead be connected and updated?

Might be a good final step in the docs, while you’ve got the machine all taken apart for maintenance - boot up which each toolhead in turn, and set Quick Swap to “installed”.

Hi all, I just updated to the latest firmware on my SnapMaker 2 but I just can’t find this Quick Swap Kit toggle in the settings… Is this toggle might hidden in a sub menu? Thnaks a lot in advance for any help!

Hi, that’s the same by me. Nothing in the Settings.

It is a bit buried on the touchscreen in the settings “app”. Not in front of my device right now - if I remember, I’ll look and give the exact location. But it is there, I’m sure. Unless you’re on an old firmware.

Hi everyone, I’m with the latest version V1.19.0_20240307 and I can’t find the setting for quickswap nor bracing kit, anyone have the same issue ?

I might not be the sharpest knife in the drawer but I’m pretty sure I checked everywhere on the control screen

Go to your settings screen and scroll down to installation status or something equal.

Hi, Just if someone have the same problem, I solve the issue:

I did not have access to this setting because even if the firmware was updated to V1.19.0, the touchscreen version was still V1.14.1, and every time I tried to update it it failed.

This was due to a lack of memory space, so when I deleted some gcode files to have more space, after updating to the latest version it went fine and now I have access to the settings normally.
