Left extruder damaging filament?

Hi guys,
I’ve been playing around with the snap maker but and noticed that the filament on the left extruder specifically wasn’t extruding properly. I opened up the extruder module and found shavings of the filament near the gears and noticed my filament was damaged.
The right extruder, however, seems to be working just fine. I’ve attached some pictures of the shavings and of the left extruder’s filament (black) compared to the right (gold).
Has anyone else had this issue?

It might be, that your nozzle is clogged. Your pictures look similar to the ones in this Blog-Post. Maybe take a look if cleaning the nozzle and extruder might help.

That seemed to work! Thanks!

I just had to clean them myself. Seems like there was still some filament left in the gear after switching materials. Just ordered some “cleaning filament” on Amazon and I hope this helps when changing colors.

I needed the wedge provided from snapmaker as workaround:

I am already using their wedge but I still see filament shavings in the machine, the wedge doesn’t seem to work for me.

The same symptoms appeared for me.
I found that the nozzle is blocked only when printing with a specific filament, whether Artisan (Dual Nozzle) or Snaomaker 2 (Single Nozzle).
That filament is Snapmaker’s PLA black .
I believe that the quality of Snapmaker’s PLA black is likely poor.
