Incorrect replacement sent

I received my U1 a week ago. After initial setup I started the included Dragon test print.

After approx 1 hour, the whole system crashed and turnd off. I tracked it down to a faulty Toolhead PCB. I’ve been into 3D Printing and electronics long enough to understand that things go wrong now and then even on new items, so I ordered 2 (one as a furture spare) and contacted Snapmaker to inquire about delivery time etc.

I was informed it would be a couple of days to process then be delivered. I accepted this and kept checking tracking.

My order actually tracked as being due for arrival today, much earlier than I expected, but I was happy with that.

It has just arrived, and I am NOT happy in the slightest as I have been sent two boxes of buffing wheels for a mini grinder/buffing tool.

I do not want to give up on the U1, as the reviews I have seen, and even my short user time with it, have impressed me overall BUT….. This action is not satisfactory in ANY way, and is in my opinion bordering on deception, and/or even worse as I have paid for 2 PCB’s and received useless items which are worth a fraction of the cost I have paid.

I also ordered a Number 1 Toolhead, and a Number 2 Toolhead for furture spares which are still tracking as waiting which is to be expected.

Hopefully Snapmaker will resolve this ASAP, but I am posting this to make people aware of the situation in case they need to order items.

That’s unfortunate, very unfortunate. But, I wouldn’t beat them up too much… At least for now. I understand your frustration, but like you said, their support has been fantastic. I’d let them fix it, I’m sure they will. This just tells me that their QC and shipping dept are likely overwhelmed and need help. I’m sure Snapmaker is having some growing pains due to the success of the U1.

Giving up on u1 because of a shipping mistake that doesn’t even seem like it came from snapmaker. A little over dramatic.

Hopefully it will get fixed.

Fingers crossed (and any other bits as well lol).

I’m not giving up on them yet, and in all honesty, my finger is hovering over the ‘Preorder Now’ button for another one as I am more than happy with what they have done overall.

I started with a Creality CR-10 years back, so am no stranger to problems, I just wish the local stock and distribution wasn’t as limited as it is.

He’s not over dramatic at all and has a right to be upset…

I’m not saying someone doesn’t have right to be upset. But there are so, so many variables at play. And not all of them are under total control of a single entity.

You can contact the after-sales staff to inquire about the situation; they will help you.

You can submit a ticket at the same time in case the technical staff or fellow users in the forum don’t respond promptly.

Thanks

I’ve already contacted Support on the original ticket I raised informing them of incorrect items and requesting a solution.

Update.

Replacement PCB received and installed, all seems to be working perfectly now.

Customer service was excellent, and they even fast tracked the two extra Toolheads I ordered as spares, which arrived today.

After my obvious initial worry, I am more than happy with how Snapmaker respond to a problem.

If the print quality of my U1 continues to match what I am seeing so far, then when my other printers die and float up to Printer Heaven (or possibly get gently pushed lol), I’ll be replacing them with at least one more U1.

10/10
