I noticed during a print that the filament spool had run out. The printer still had filament in the tube and continued printing. I removed the empty spool, installed a new one, and inserted the filament into the loader. After that, I received an error message indicating a possible filament break. I can fully understand this. However, the loader had already indicated that there was no filament left before that. I had to pull the filament out again, let the printer finish printing the remaining old filament, and only then could I reload.
Therefore, I suggest exactly one adjustment: When the loader no longer detects filament, it should change the status for that tool head and replace the break detection with a reload mode. If the printer then still shows empty filament on the display and in the app, I can reload while it’s still printing, and the printer can immediately load the new filament. The print will have a shorter interruption, and I only need to change the filament for a very short time.
Is this feasible? Do others also wish for something like this?
