Filamentzufür

Hello everyone,

I received my U1 about a month ago and immediately printed something—it all worked fine. Now, when I tried to print again, the filament broke four times in the feeder. The filament wasn’t stored on the side; it was kept in a dry box (a cereal box) and was completely dry. I find that quite strange. But that’s not the actual problem.

As mentioned, I store my filament in dry boxes made from cereal boxes. My QIDI X-Max3 pulls the filament out of them without any issues. However, when I try to load the filament into the U1, I get an error message, and the motors sound very strained. Are they that weak? The boxes have standard pneumatic connectors, and I can easily pull the filament out by hand. Has anyone else experienced this?

Best regards,
Jan

Is the filament from the dry boxes being pulled at an angle? Maybe it is causing strain on the filament loader due to the angle the dry boxes likely sit. Got a pic of your setup?

Did you try using the filament in question from the side spools? I had some Sunlu filament that went brittle & drying it twice for a total of 16 hrs didn’t help. The 1st third of the spool was fine.

Had also breaking filaments of esun. Just used compressor to push the parts out. But i have also no Problem to use dryboxes with the feeders.
