Head change filament runout detection

Hello everyone,

I have the same filament loaded on Head 1 and Head 2, and I would like the printer to automatically detect when Head 1 is empty and switch to Head 2 during printing. Is this possible? I couldn’t find any settings for this.

Additionally, I have the issue that during printing, it wants to use a different filament than what I have set. For example, I have Filament 3 set, but it wants to use Head 4.

Does anyone else have the same problems?

Best regards

Philipp

In printer settings, on the printer itself, turn on runout detection. I don’t remember how it is called exactly, but it is in the settings.

Yes, as @nweolu said.

On the screen you’ll find a setting to enable Filament Runout Recovery. Make sure that’s turned on.

Then on the printer, mount two of the same spool and label them the same color and material. When one runs out, it will automatically switch to the other one.

Some people were reporting a glitch that they need to also be mounted in sequential order? (Meaning mount the first one in tool 1, second in 2. Or anything like 1->2->3->4->1.) I don’t know if that’s true though. I thought they just needed to be labeled the same color and material when you mount them.

Thank you Got it. I read about the head coupling , but I wasn’t aware that the feature needs to be enabled global in the settings first. My spool is nearly empty, so I’m going to test it out tomorrow.
