I’ve been wondering that too.
Should it be Laser Spot (when setting up a job)?

That would be a very useful addition. Before, when switching on laser at 0.5% to see where the start position is, and then going to jog to move it it then switches the laser off!
There was already a toggle for that in Luban: “Keep Laser On When Moving”
I saw that and was worried it meant ON during all movements when doing a laser job!
Of course, if that was the case and was implemented at the machine level that would be a definite plus.
Sorry to hear that. It’s abnormal that the update fails via USB. You can contact our support team to check if the screen update was successful. Thank you!
To be clear, my update problem was only via wifi, whereas I have used wifi to sucessfully update before. It found an update available, I click update now, and then a page with ‘Download Update 73.5MB’ but pressing that does nothing.
USB update was successful.
Hi @VaporPhoxxe
“Laser Shot Output” refers to the laser being activated at a relatively low power level, which can be used for positioning. We will change it to “low-intensity laser” for easier understanding. Thank you for your feedback.
Unfortunately, you can’t seem to use it for positioning because after you turn the laser on via the touchscreen, as soon as you switch to the jog screen to actually do any positioning, the laser turns off.
Same thing here: Updating firmware via console not working. Although this is mentioned as solved in this version!
just updated from 1.18 to 1.19
option over WiFi was not possible , the Download button could not be pressed on Display, so i did the update over the .bin on the USB stick .
The Process was going 2 Times to 100%, ( 172 Modules and then 590ish Modules ) then a Restart.
Calibrating was running with the Bracing Kit, all Okay so far ( just tested Dual Extruder yet )
As a workaround I have been dloading the firmware to my PC, using workspace in Luban to import the firmware file.
You have to change the bottom right drop down from “Custom Files” to “All files” in the import window to see and select it. Once imported connect to your machine and send the file, same as you might a gcode. Disconnect once it has been sent, then on the machine go to “files” and select the firmware file that you sent. The machine will load and install the firmware. This worked for me with at least the last 3 firmware updates, where the download button in the machine console did not work. It is easier to me than the USB shuffle.
I recently had to remove the quick swap plate to increase my print area in the Y direction. Unfortunately I had to remove the entire system because I could not get the manual bed leveling to work with the base plates installed. It crashed the print head into the bed. Is it possible to configure the setting so that we can remove one portion of the quick swap when needed?
One problem with the manual leveling is that the bed sensor in the head is not active when it is decending. This means that it will crash into the bed when the bed is higher than expected.
Exactly. I believe the Z height changes when the Quick Swap is added so the print head goes too low. I would like to either have the sensor on before leveling or add the option of keeping the Quick swap base installed and removing only the head swap parts. In this case, I needed more Y axis, not Z and taking the base parts off is a lot more difficult.
I had to play with my new toy for some time (Ray) and now got back to the 2.0 to print something. I found out, that the nozzle was a bit too far from the bed (horizontally), so after some research, I found out, there is no bracing-kit option in the settings menu. Although it said, 1.19.0 was installed properly, it was obviously not. So I tried to reinstall and had the same trouble with “updating” showing forever in the display. I then downgraded to 1.18.6 and tried again - nothing.
Finally, I entered dev mode and deleted upgrade files, reset the machine, I deleted all luban files as well, I restarted. Since updating via touchscreen still is not working (unable to press the download button, simply nothing happens) and USB-stick was not working either, I tried the 3rd way - importing update file into Luban, sent it to machine and then started it again. NOW - finally - it worked, updating, restarting and showing me “complete”. Now I have the option of telling the machine, that the bracing kit is installed. So I guess, I am now on a proper actual firmware.
Is there a reason why the bed sensor is not active during automated machine movements especially on Z-axis?
I wish it would slow down a bit as it approaches when setting origin with CNC and rotary module, etc. I always have my hand over the kill button with that CNC toolhead and bit flying over and down.
I was able to use the ‘Update Firmware’ button on the device touchscreen for Snapmaker2_V1.20.2. Update was downloaded and installed without issue for me.
I believe those that were looking for this to work from 1.18 to 1.19 were disappointed when it didn’t. I believe it was fixed in 1.19 as was stated, you just couldn’t test/verify until the next release, 1.20. The fix was in 1.19, it was realized after installing 1.19 and then using it for 1.20 install.

What does the message “others < module does not support current gcode” mean?
