Work speed increase

I decided to increase the work speed via the SM console to 200%. It certainly appears to be going faster however I have a couple of questions.

  1. It doesn’t seem to affect the time remaining shown on the console.
  2. Should I increase the temp of the printhead?
  3. Anything else I should know when I do this?

Thanks.

I have a v1, but I believe the lead screws are pretty similar between v1 and v2.

My son was experimenting with print speeds up to 100 mm/s. It initially worked pretty well. But on the 4th or 5th print, I heard a loud click, and looked over to see the print had shifted. I believe the print head jumped a thread. I stopped the print, and jogged the X axis to both ends of the rail. It made some awful grinding noises, but has been printing fine since.

I haven’t had any issues at 80 mm/s.

Regarding the print head temp, bridging and stringing can be affected by the print speed. That said, making your own temperature tower using your own print speeds involves editting the GCode by hand. So maybe print a couple stringing calibration objects at your chosen settings, and see if you’re happy with the results. If the stringing is excessive, lower the temp.
