New 3DP, new rails, new speed

Hello,

I have the new 3D head and the new rails ( incredibly quiet)
Anyway, when it comes to print speed.
Is there a new profile in Luban to benefit from this?
Any suggestion on new speed?

Thanks

It seems they have changed the language on the store regarding the new modules.

They are not being advertised as “faster”

Give it a try. If you don’t try something too extreme, going too fast will just cause a failed print.

My kid was doing some prototyping on my v1, trying to dial in the shape and size on his first 3D model. I think he had travel up to 100 mm/s, and most of the printing speeds at 80 mm/s. It worked fine for a couple of prints, but on the 3rd or 4th print, I heard a loud click. I looked over to see the print head had shifted about 8-10mm, and was air printing. I haven’t gone over 80 mm/s since then, and haven’t had a layer shift since.

As someone with new rails would you mind opening the dust covers on a couple of the modules and seeing if there is a difference in the diameter of lead screws between X (or Y) vs. Z. Some people have questioned whether the new specs of the lead screws refer to their diameter or their pitch/axial advance. The original’s were all 8mm. On the new modules the specs for the Z’s are 8mm and the X&Y are 20mm. If you can share some photos that would be awesome!

@brent113 lmao what made them change the wording I wonder. It’s already a slow machine, kind of hard to compromise that. And why did they say stability?

Slow??? …

I naively bought a range of spools that by the looks of things will serve my grandchildren well…

There was a Snapmaker picture showing the same two printed rabbit? figures, one 50% bigger than the other, to demonstrate the faster speed of the new modules.
I dont remember where it was.

The illustration you are referring to is part of the description of the F models at least in the EU store. When you select the F350 in the store you need to scroll down a bit to find it.

Right, still there. This was my rational for buying them…

@jabian im aware of that. But the point was they changed the wording and are no longer saying it’s faster in the support articles lol.
