I run Luban 4.3.2 and it’s been working fine since I bought the printer off Kickstarter. Last time it worked was about a week ago, now suddenly I can’t connect to the printer via wifi.
The IP was still showing up on the list and would connect and then immediately dropout. Then just kept giving me a timeout 3000ms error.
Steps I’ve taken:
Updated to latest firmware
Restarted PC and printer multiple times
Changed 5g channel from 38 to 44
Changed 2g channel from auto to 1
Tried to manually connect to the IP
Entered dev mode on the snapmaker and reset all preferences
I’m at a bit of a loss, it’s really annoying having to run back and forth from the PC on the other end of the house whenever I want to print something. Any other tips I can try? I’ve gone through the forums and couldn’t find anything else useful to try.
Note - The wifi IP used to just come up automatically as a dropdown in Luban but now doesn’t show up at all. Only way to get any communication is to manually input the IP and it just times out and disconnects within a few seconds. Also IP doesn’t even show up as a connected device on my network but I can ping it.
Have you made any network changes at home? For example, bought a new Wireless Access Point, or replaced your cable/dsl/fiber modem? Even if you didn’t replace it, maybe you updated the firmware on it? If the router is a rental from your ISP, they can upgrade the firmware remotely.
It’s a common security setting for newer WAP/Routers to disable letting wifi devices talk to each other. It prevents people connecting to your wifi somehow, then scanning the network. But it also means your laptop won’t be able to scan or talk to the snapmaker, even if you know the IP address (which you tried).
I am assuming your computer is also using WiFi, not an ethernet cable. If you can plug you computer in with an ethernet cable to the WAP/Router, and it works, that’s a good sign this is your problem.
Hi. I have the same problem after a recent firmware upgrade. It seems the printer has some kind of error logging into the router, and I tried with both routers upstairs as well as downstairs. Laptops are unaffected, and no changes were made to the routers. I have re-installed the firmware for the A350, and have the same problem. It worked fine before the firmware upgrade, and now it will not log into either router. I am suspecting an error or bug in the new firmware. Question: should I downgrade the firmware and see if it makes a difference? The printer seems to work fine so far, but I have not used the laser or CNC since the firmware upgrade, so I cannot confirm those. Any Ideas? Thanks again!
