In summary - I can’t get the USB port to mount any USB stick whatsoever.
Followed all the guidance re: FAT32, tried with multple sticks of different sizes, but in every case the option for USB in the “Files” section is greyed out - I cannot select it at all. It feels like the USB port is not even detecting a drive.
This now creates an issue as I am unable to update the firmware (and the current firmware on the controller pre-dates the ability to update via WiFI).
Are there any known work arounds? I can connect via Serial and occaisionally wifi (that’s a different issue), but have not as yet found a way to transfer the files.
Unfortunately there is no way around.
Fat32 16GB Usb2.0 where the specs provided by snapmaker a few years ago.
Only the USB A-port could work for file transfer.
Why is your wifi not working?
I suggest to open a support ticket if it’s a warranty case or buy a new controller in the shop for about 80€.
Interesting - I’ll try and dig out the original USB that shipped with the machine - I’ve tried 6 different USB sticks (all FAT32) - but none were 16GB, it’s worth a try.
Wifi works intermittently (different issue - but workable) - but I’m on an earlier version of firmware that pre-dated wifi firmware updates. So not a show stopper for use, but keen to fix going forward.
I am having the same issue, I don’t have the original USB drive but have tried 5 others all under 16GB. I opened a support ticket went through different steps to get the controller to recognize the USB with no luck. They told me I would have to replace the controller, just received after waiting on backorder still doesn’t work looking to see if anyone has found any solutions to this need to update firmware to work with 10w laser and more.
