So what is the firmware upgrade procedure if you have never used/connected the 1.6w laser head and the Cnc head. Firmware installed is 1.14.3 (with the original 3D print head connected). I also have the upgraded 3D print head laying around when the original one fails. Also that one was never connected. Do I need to downgrade to 1.11.4 and than do 1.12.0 firmware upgrade for each toolhead before reverting back to 1.14.3 or can I just update the toolheads as I installed them on the machine straight from 1.14.3? I have a gen 1 Kickstarter version of the A350ā¦
The most common suggestion is to first install 1.13.2, then the latest. No need to go back all the way. Just install 1.13.2 on all your toolheads, then follow up and do 1.14.3. Power cycling between each one of course.
Hi, Iām going to ask a potentially stupid questionā¦Iāve really only used my A350 for 3D printing. I have the Dual Extruder and have gotten that to work successfully and I did notice that the system said something about updating firmware when I plugged that in (or maybe it was for the new actuators?). I think Iām using the latest firmware now.
Anyway, I thought Iād try the laser next and I have the higher power laser as well as the original one. When I connect up the high power laser the first time will I have to do anything or will the system update the firmware for it automagically? Meaning, will I have to roll back to some previous revision of the firmware and then walk it up to the current version or what? Iām a bit confused about what Iāve read so far on this topic. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
The 10W laser came out after 1.12.0, so no need to update this module. Only the āoldā versions of laser & 3DP & CNC needed the update.
Itās always recommended to manually flash the firmware for each module just incase. However, nothing should need to be done. Canāt hurt to go ahead and flash the firmware with each toolhead attached, just make sure to power cycle before swapping the cable.
