Hi,
great work. Is there a recomended Thickness/strength for the PC?

+1 This post!
I have just completed this specific mod, using the IKEA 45L (12 Gallon US) plastic bin. That cost me $8 at IKEA. I printed the OPEN frame version, which does NOT require you to remove ANYTHING. It just slips over the top, with cutouts for the PTFE/USB.
I must say this is a brilliant design! Total cost around $10 and it works! Even using it only for dust/debris protection for my U1 is well worth it, but it does hold in at least some of the heat too.

PS:I will update later when I have time: LED light installation (mounting points already reserved), small-size panel drawings.
The dimensions of cylindrical objects cannot be expressed as M5x3, as “M” specifically refers to metric threads.
It should be Φ5x3; however, this character is difficult to type, so it can be simplified to D5x3.
HAHAHA, it’s just hard to type, so I got lazy!! “D” is an easy-to-get way—I’ll just copy your symbol!!
Top Design, but for me unintrested because of the design from the polycarbonat.
The file can also be used for laser-cutting acrylic.![]()
Is there a version where the PC-plates have non-rounded-corners? Would be much easier to cut myselve…
I am printing this model, were you able to add led strip?
I’ll find time to finish it after the Spring Festival holiday.
Hello, im trying to upload the dwg file to an online store to have the PC sheets cut however its telling me that the contents are not closed. Also, is that one file all thats needed for these panels to be cut? Im unfamiliar with dwg files so im not sure if the angles of the curves and measurements are all included in that one file.
Enjoy it!
I just realized I uploaded a DWG last time—DXF is more universal, so I’ve updated the DXF file. If you’re using acrylic, you can send it straight to a laser cutter; if you’re using PC sheet, it’s ready for CNC engraving.
I needed a way to route the Panda Breath wire out without placing the exit too high, so I used a modifier in the slicer to add a small TPU cube in one corner and then cut it diagonally.
This lets the wire pass through while keeping the opening minimal, so there isn’t a large hole for heat and chamber gases to escape.
I’d say it’s a bit of a missed opportunity not to use multi-material for the LED wire exit.
