Understand that printers purchased after May 2026 use the updated factory V2 design
which includes a new design inside the toolhead.
Are the toolheads available in the shop of the new version ?

Are you sure this is something Snapmaker are rolling out? This looks like the third party filament guide somebody posted (just finding the link…)

Seen these advertised before on Reddit IIRC
..and especially this section of his text. which means, newer U1s do have that built in somehow. This is why my question whether the toolheads sold from the shop are of the newer version.

Everything I shared here was information I personally dug up to help the community stay informed. It’s disappointing to see contributions like this being flagged and met with unnecessary cynicism.
If you don’t have the capacity to share or create anything useful yourself, then by all means, keep being a troll. But attacking people who are actually trying to help doesn’t do this forum any good.
Ethan seems adamant there is a V2 toolhead incorporating something along the lines of his filament path upgrade, but I don’t recall seeing anything “official” about this (ie information released directly from Snapmaker). Have I missed something?

In my experience, new machines purchased in May and June already come equipped with the manufacturer’s updated design.
But I’ve received feedback that machines bought in Canada as late as the end of May still feature the older version of the filament guide.
In the V2 design, the bottom of the guide has been modified, and a cover has been added to the opposite side of the base. Since I haven’t purchased any standalone spare toolheads, I cannot confirm whether you would receive the V2 design if you were to buy the “extruder guide kit” separately.
I’ve seen many cases on Facebook where filament abnormally extrudes through gaps in the toolhead. I suspect this is caused by the orientation of the guide combined with the filament’s “coil memory” (natural curvature). If your prints don’t involve heat creep, frequent retractions, or TPU filament, this issue might not be very noticeable.
Furthermore, one of my extruders has a visible height misalignment between the gears. This is likely because the right-hand gear is press-fitted during factory assembly, which sometimes lacks the necessary precision. When this occurs, it becomes harder for the filament to be fed into the extruder gears, or the filament gets excessively ground down during printing. The solution is to use an 8mm end mill to trim the mounting platform of the right gear to correct the offset between the two gears.

BTW, I originally intended to stop after the first batch. Prototyping and developing these CNC-machined guides was quite costly in the first batch, and I needed a certain production volume just to break even. Although the first batch sold out completely, I continued to receive private messages asking for another run. This included customers from the first batch who only bought one or two units and now want to top up to a full set of four. That is why I have decided to open a second round of pre-orders.
Well I ordered 2 today so will be 7-10 days before they come, can you see that part you are on about without having to dissemble the toolhead?
This component can basically only be seen by reaching the deepest part with the disassembly tool head.
Oh well ignorance is bliss then

Based on current information, the U1 has indeed undergone a structural optimization upgrade for the filament runout sensor.
Modification Description:
The new version of the filament runout sensor features an optimized structure above the detection magnet. The previously open area has been redesigned as a closed stop-block structure, consistent with the lower section. This modification enhances the constraint of the filament feed path in the area above the extruder gear, reducing the risk of filament deviation, jamming, or clogging during the feeding process, thereby improving overall feeding stability.
