I’m looking for support material that users on here have used and recommend with suitable settings.
I ordered XYPolymer support from Amazon and have had extremely bad experiances with it. It does not stick to a bed set at 80 degrees with a nozzle temperature 250 degrees and Dimafix adhesive. The nozzle seems to be above the prining layer. I have recalibrated the Z offset , not even by overriding the calibration on the fly does it make any difference.
I’m bitterly disapointed with it. If I could use one word for it ,crap, comes to mind.
I have an SM2 A350 with Dual extruder. All works well with normal PLA for the model file.
Does regular PLA in that extruder stick? I don’t have a 2.0, but I’ve seen numerous complaints about having trouble getting the 2nd extruder calibrated properly when the first extruder works. You said “All works well with normal PLA for the model file”, but didn’t specify which extruder you were using for that.
No, during x,y calibration I use regular PLA in both extruders and there are no issues.
I use the left extruder for support material and the right for model material.
I’m thinking of going the petg route for support material as this seems to be a popular alternative that doesn’t stick to the material and has similar printing settings to PLA.
