Hi everyone,
I’m having two issues with my Snapmaker J1S and would appreciate some advice from other J1S owners.
- Heated bed levelling is required before every print
My issue is not simply a first-layer calibration problem.
I have to run the heated bed levelling procedure before every print. If I start a print without doing the heated bed levelling, the result can vary significantly:
- Sometimes the nozzle prints too high, essentially printing in the air.
- Other times the nozzle gets too low and hits/rubs against the bed.
After running heated bed levelling, the printer can print normally.
Is this expected behaviour for the J1S? Should the bed level remain consistent between prints, or is there a mechanical/electrical issue that I should investigate?
I would appreciate advice on what I should check, particularly whether there is a known J1S issue related to the bed levelling system, Z-axis, bed mounting, or calibration.
- Bottom limit switch replacement
I also need to replace the bottom limit switch on my J1S.
Does anyone know the exact specification and dimensions of the original switch, or an equivalent replacement?
I would prefer to replace just the switch rather than the complete assembly. If anyone has replaced it before, I would appreciate the part number, dimensions, electrical specification, or an equivalent switch that fits the J1S.
Thanks in advance!
