Single Extruder Print Head - Z-probe broken

Hello everyone.

Last week I received my Dual Extruder Print Head and of course immediately replaced the single extruder. During the replacement process, I noticed that the Z-probe of the single extruder wobbled a little (the adjustment screw on the back of the head was not loose).

After removing the right side panel of the head, I could see that there was a crack in the plastic support on which the Z-probe is attached. So I wanted to remove the probe and glue the crack with superglue.

After carefully (!) removing the Z-probe, this fell out of the print head:

As I have never experienced a crash with the print head and have never played around with the Z-probe, I honestly don’t know how this could have happened. I also don’t know whether this condition has existed since the Snapmaker was delivered or whether it is material fatigue.

I’ve opened a ticket with support and will now wait and see what happens next…

Best regards.
Jens

Edit: typos

Hello everyone.

Snapmaker support has already replied. They are sending me a new Z-probe as a spare part. That went really quick. Now I just have to wait for the delivery.

Thank you Snapmaker for the fast and uncomplicated support.

Best regards.
