Questions about origin point placement

Hello all,

doing CNC with Fusion 360. I choose the top left side of my stock as my stock box point. When I put the stock on the machine I need to set my origin point. Do you put the center of the bit on the corner of the stock exactly, with some over hanging the stock and some overhanging off the stock, or entirely to the outside.

Do you set the z axis so low that the bit touches the stock or just almost touch etc.

Thanks!

Hi,

you put the bit where you set the origin in Fusion.

The Z-axis is the same way as the 3D print head, with just enough friction.

I would watch some Snapmaker videos and this guy is good
