I would like to find out how to print with Overture TPU Clear filament. Having a tough time figuring this out by myself. It keeps nesting on the inside of the module like its not strong enough to hold it in there and pull it out.
Warning: long thread
Basically, because the Snapmaker pushes the filament through the head, flex tends to bunch up in the empty space inside. There’s an adapter you can print from more rigid plastic to fill in the space, although some people have been able to print flex without it.
I’ve posted this a few times on different threads, but here is a rather simple workaround:
- Manually load the filament into the 3D Printer Module and leave the door open.
- Place a long piece of scotch tape at the base of the door and angle it up vertically, slightly to the right, so that you can stick the other end slightly to the right of the filament entry point.
- Using the end of the tape that is free, apply light pressure to the filament by tensioning the tape and sticking it to the top of the 3D Printer Module.
You might need to adjust this a few times until you figure out what pressure works best, and I do this every time I print with TPU (I use OVERTURE as well). Once I figured this out, I have never had any issue with flexible filaments. It would have been nice if Snapmaker had added a pressure adjustment screw like every other extruder has, but works just as well.
Alternative solution is to replace spring with the spring from balpen. Works perfectly. The idea is to reduce force on the roller.
