If you use another material for support interface, the second extruder is printing the wipe tower in the air. The main extruder does not fill up the wipe tower at the layers the second extruder is not being used. As a result if the second extruder comes in, it prints in the air.
I had exactly same issue with SnapMaker Artisan, sliced with Luban.
