Printed objects have really bad strength

Dear,

With the included white filament of 0,5KG the print results where really good.
When I mounted the black snapmaker filament on the 1KG spool things got bad.

I cannot get the prints to be as strong as before. It seems the layers don’t stick well to each other. The bed adhesion is btw way harder then with the first filament.

Has anyone experienced such a thing?

Kind regards,

Pieter

Lots of people have.
The black SM filament has turned out to be crap for a lot of people.
If you’re having problems with it, throw it away.

(you could play around dry it out and adjust settings but it probably won’t be worth your time)

Hi,

Thx for your reply!

What a pity to hear, I bought quite a lot from Snapmaker :frowning:

Not all of it is bad (even of the black, I had no problems with mine as have many others)
Try it and see.
I would definitely dry it all out before using.
Also, different color filaments require different temps. Like white tends to need 5-10º better than black.

Allright.

I set it now to 200 degrees and seems a little better. What is the best way to dry it out?

Cheers!

P.

You can place it in an oven on very low heat (~50⁰C) for a few hours. Or if you’re going to be doing a lot of drying, buy either a food dehydrator or a purpose-built filament dehydrator, whichever you can get most cheaply.

Thx All!

I put it in the oven and it’s slightly better.

Greatings
