PID autocalibration fails in SnapMaker 2.0 (A-350)

Hi.

I want to calibrate step by step my SnapMaker 2.0 (A-350) to improve the printing quality. Now I have seen that many people suggest to run a PID autocalibration.

But I am stuck cause I get “Thermal runaway errors” after starting the PID autocal.

Any Idea or should I skip the “PID Tuning” step?

Thanks,
Rainer

SM Firmware: latest with vers. 1.10.1
Command Line using Octoprint / over USB conn.

Steps I have done to start PID:

M106 (Start FAN 100% of Extruder)

Recv: ok

Send: M303 E0 S205 C8 (Start Calibration of E0 (should be Extruder); Testcycles = C8 (8 times), Prefered HotEnd Temp 205C (S205)

Hi Rainer,

Did you manage to resolve this? My A350 arrived this week and I’m having the same issue. I can’t run the pod tuning without it quickly getting a thermal runaway error.

The temp variance is also quite high on the prints so I feel it’s needs to be tuned.

Martin

Hi Martin.

Not yet until now. But after calibrating my snapmaker as suggested here in this forum I think this workes for me as I currently need.

At the moment I have used my A350 heavily without any issues and I as a newby to 3D printing could complete many projects with PLA, PETG and TPU filament. No issue at all after doing the initial calibration as suggested here.

But no update on this PID issues I have found out.

But I have to add, that I have worked into CURA as my prefered sliceing tool. LUBAN is years behind in development and feature flexibility compared to Cura or any other popular slicer software.

Until now I have never used LUBAN as my 3D printing slicer again…

I have just tested this on firmware v1.14.1_20211207.
Looks like the bug is still there.
How do I raise a ticket on this?
