No filling in print mode

Hi all,
I am completely new to 3D printing. I want to print a simple filled cube. Despite the infill density setting, the cube is empty inside and without the upper surface, like a box. The same thing happened when I printed the character model. There is no fill layer in Line Type panel at all in luban. I am attaching a screenshot.
Thanks in advance.

Where did you get the cube model from? Because that looks like a geometry problem with the model file.

If you just want a simple test print, one of the most common is this calibration cube. If that cube, which has a known good geometry and has been used by thousands of people, displays the same symptoms, either you’ve hit a bug or you’re doing something in the wrong order.

Uploading: Start Luban.jpg

Printing Settings click the gear wheel with the mouse.
And already you can set the infill!!!
(see markings in the pictures)

Doesn’t matter what you set the infill setting to if it’s a bad stl and the slicer doesn’t see it as a solid cube.

Now if surface mode was set wrong and not to solid that could give you this type of problem.

@sdj544, what you say is true. But @ravluk has claimed that there is no setting for the filling density in Luban!

No. He did not.
He said that even with the infill setting he shows in his picture (50%) it still wasn’t solid.

???

Which shows up in his screen grab as 50%

No idea what this means. Something lost in translation. Perhaps referring to vase mode? Definitely not infill density since he obviously changed it from the default 15%.

@ravluk,
you have probably found the filling density on the basis of my pictures.
But this does not lead to your desired result.
Since the filling density is the density of the material between the inside and outside wall. so how much the walls of the box selected in your case are filled.

To print a complete cube, it also needs a complete cube!

As ElloryJaye has already written.

@sdj544

I guess the 50% infill is the value the box has, how can he change the fill density if he can’t find it here in his picture in Luban !??

Thanks for the answers.
I made this cube in thinkercad. I tried to print it in slis3r, and printed correctly together with the filling. There in slice preview, I saw all layers with infill. I attached two screenshots of the same cube in Luban (I marked, what I meant when I wrote: "There is no fill layer in Line Type panel at all in luban) and in Slic3r.

Check your setting, you printed in vase mode.
Did you try a other print profile, maybe a pre configured?

So,
I downloaded a cube from Thinkiverse and had it created with 15% fill g code.
And as you can see in the picture there is the infill!!!

Fact is,
what I have described above is correct !!!

But the fact is also:

  1. if you draw a box, there will be no infill in it, because the software recognizes that it is a box without a lid, so it does not need to print infill!
  2. if you draw a cube with all 4 sides closed, it will automatically print the infill with the % infill setting.

You can see this when you have created the g code and slowly move the slider (see Picture) down when the top lid disappears you will see the infill. If you increase the value before creating the g code and then create the g code and move the slider down again, you will see that there is more infill.

So also Luban can change the infill according to your wishes!

The only thing that is not displayed is that the fill pattern is closer or further apart.
But I can reassure you, the error is known for a long time and will not occur in version 4.2.1.

I am one of the beta testers and have just checked this with this version, here the infill is displayed correctly in the preview after slicing !!!

Hello,

just to repeat the obvious:

Which is basically, the definition of vase mode

So @xchrisd is right:

Or in Luban the checkbox in “spiralize outer contour” is checked.

@ravluk didn’t show this specific setting or that the vase mode check box isn’t selected. So we can only assume that it is selected and he is printing in vase mode.

But I can’t find any vase mode check box. Where is it?

I just open xyzCalibrationcube.stl, about witch ElloryJaye wrote. The same problem.
