Need a second opition on hot end

hey everyone my name is Morgana

I recently bought a second hand snapmaker and just tied it out and it was having some trouble. too start the filament wasn’t sticking to the bead as i tried to fix that i noticed head was burning the plastic but displayed temperature should have been to low for that. I’ve removed the whole tool head and can see the sock is cracked and blackened.

am I mistaken to belive the temp sensor was bad and i should replace the hot end?

It’s best to add more photos or a short video so we can pinpoint the issue quickly, or open a support ticket and let the after-sales team take a look.

You can submit a ticket at the same time in case the technical staff or fellow users in the forum don’t respond promptly.

If the nozzle is not tight enough, or the heat-break is not fitted correctly, or even blocked at the tip, the hot filament can squeeze out around the hot end threads, between the hot end and the silicone sock, and eventually blacken.
If it was already like this when you got it, you will be better off just getting a new hot end. Notice, later, as you get experience with it, you might want to upgrade the heat-break with a bi-metal design and better nozzles.
