M503 returns nothing over Wi-Fi connection

I’m a bit puzzled as to why the console is more capable when connecting to the machine over Serial vs. Wi-Fi? For example, over Wi-Fi, issuing M503 returns nothing but ‘OK’, but over Serial connection the command returns a wealth of information.

Kindly advise.

Because snapmaker hasn’t implemented console commands over Wi-Fi. They decided it was not as important as other features. I have not heard if this functionality will be added in the future. @JKC20 do you know if this is in the works?

Are bugs and features for Luban are managed in GitHub?

Yes that is the primary place, there are also threads on the forum.

This is for the SM2 firmware: https://forum.snapmaker.com/t/discussion-of-snapmaker-2-0-firmware-updates/5441

And this is for Luban:

Happy making,

Hi Atom, not yet. But it is on our radar and could be implemented.

Thanks, it is my opinion that this is relatively important. Because it does us no good to have Wi-Fi on our unit if we still need it close enough to a pc to connect via usb for calibrations. Alternatively, have you considered adding a console to the touchscreen? That would be cool and somthing I have never seen before. Just food for thought.

I’m also having all sorts of problems connecting over the serial port to my mac. The serial port driver isn’t supported in Big Sur from what I can see either. That makes this all the more critical. I’d definitely like to add my voice to getting this feature (or bug) fixed.

Have you tried installing the drivers?
