Laser height issue

Hi

We have been cutting 0.030 Polypro a while . Mostly with no issue.
We had some problems with the laser module at one point but it was quickly replaced. (Thank you)

The issue we have now is after calibration, the head is so close to the material that you can’t even see the light of the laser. We checked laser height and adjusted to 22. (It had defaulted to 32 which did a horrible cut job).

It seems to be working but how can we increase the z axis so that we still cut nicely on first path while being able to easily see the laser spot for positioning?

Is the lens hood screwed all the way in?
You can also remove the lens hood. It’s just there to give a little more shielding but it’s not necessary.
