Z Axis doesn't know its length

Hi All,

Freshly homed machine : anybody else have this problem ?
It’s been consistent @484 the last times I’ve turned it on, but been slamming my Laserhead into the bed more that what i like.
Can not set a new bed hight because manual calibration asks for material thickness and then moves lower than to where it should.

can anybody relate or help ?
phil

Hey, never had this problem.

Try to set a work origin over USB in luban.

Thanks ! for the quick input !
I tried a M502 and then a M500, which i had tried in the past ant it set it back to the original 334.
If i set the work origin in Luban does it write it to the touchscreen on the machine or do i have to command it somehow ? If i set Z25 as work origin is that good if my laser hight is 25 ? or will this be over written after i do a calibration ?
Kindly,
phil

I guess, the work origin is set in the controller, so the touchscreen or luban reads the parameter.
I do manual calibration all the time, this works faster for me.
My current focus (alias z-work origin) from the model to the lens hood is 5.5mm.

Thank you @xchrisd !
I noticed that Z0 is 9.5mm under the top of the laser-bed.

This seems to match up with the laser lens being on the laser-bed ?
Do i simple have to set the laser hight in the controller and everything goes back to normal ?
