Laser Camera Capture coordinates wrong after export

I just installed the 10W laser and created a design to engrave.
In Luban, I created a camera capture and placed my design on the print area, filling the entire print area vertically, some space to each side horizontally. I processed and selected the appropriate settings and finally generated the g-code before loading it onto the usb stick and bringing it to the machine.

Now when I started the job, the laser started in the middle of my work piece which was odd, so I stopped the job and checked the boundaries - turned out the print would have not filled the print area at all instead it was maybe 30% the size of the original design in Luban and shifted to the bottom right. I tried again by generating the code and instead of using the usb stick sending it directly from Luban to the machine, but alas, same issue.

Is there any fix for this, I think this is not a 10W laser specific issue - more a Luban issue in general.
I vaguely remember having similar issues before a long time ago - I just recently stopped using the USB cable so now I would like to work with files only but this is quite an issue especially as aligning prints by measuring also doesn’t work (the center of the work platform is not the center of luban - I created a file with a dead centered design, brought it to the machine, work piece also in the absolute center of the platform, ran boundaries and the laser would have missed the workpiece in several places - so there is some sort of offset to it, even without camera capture)

I’ve never been able to use the camera capture on the 10w laser. It always moves my print to the top right corner and makes it real small. I just used the manual instead.

Sounds like its the same issue that I’m facing

I haven’t experienced any issues like that and use the camera capture all the time.
Some things to double check.

  1. update the firmware and Luben if they arent.
  2. make sure you select 10watt laser in the Luben options.
  3. uninstall Luben, reboot, reinstall latest version from scratch.

Try running the job from Luban via wifi. I think that was the fix for me, but been a while since I used it (just been on other projects).

Known feature, happened to me as well… and there you have the core of the problem… some users are fine while others are plagued with such issues.

I have stopped looking forward to doing anything with the laser as a result of such issues.

But at least, know that you are not alone

To my knowledge camera capture only works via Wi-Fi. If you use usb and start the print it will use the last saved worked origin for the laser. Work origin is not stored in the g-code (it is stored on the machine).
