Issues with door detection on second-hand enclosure

Hi everyone,

I have the Snapmaker 2.0 A350 and recently bought a second-hand enclosure. Unfortunately, two magnets have come loose, which causes the door detection system not to work. Does anyone have any idea how I can fix this?

I’ve tried holding the magnets in place on the left door, but the laser doesn’t detect the door as closed, so the laser won’t work. When I disable the laser door detection, the laser power drops to 3% or even 0%, so that’s not a viable solution.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Best regards,

Carien

You can turn off door detection in the settings to see if that’s why the laser isn’t powering up, (most likely is that).
At some point you will want to reattach the magnets in the correct place though.

you can see there are two sets on either side of the door in the middle there is no obvious alignment. the right side is 10.5 inches from bottom of door to bottom of first magnet. the second magnet is 27 mm above that.

the left side is 9 inches with a 30 mm gap

You can pry the magnets out - if they have slipped, they are only held in place by magnetic force anyhow. Mine kept falling off all the time, past then they fixed them just with cheap double sided tape. I finally used superglue to fix them into the target positions, and since then no problems for me. Be careful to make sure that they really are in the right position, otherwise door detection will be a nuisance - perhaps this post helps: Warning: Security issue - Enclosure door detection not checked at start/not fail safe - #9 by robotrash
