iPhone App

Am I missing something?

My new Artisan, comes up fine in Luban, but I just cant get the iPhone app to see the printer?

Doesnt show up when trying Lan and I have no idea as to how you get the Printer Controller to bring up a QR code?

Is it not supposed to work???

I never read that the new App for the u1 is compatible for the artisan.

There was also no firmware update in the last year. Cannot imagine that they will make a connection.

Most wifi routers have a setting that does not let wifi devices see each other, only wired devices. It’s a security feature designed to prevent devices that gain access to your network from getting into other devices.

Changing that setting varies depending on your make and model.

If you don’t know how to manage it, you should still be able to enter the IP address of the printer manually to establish a connection.

The mobile app currently cannot connect to Artisan.

This is a real pity… I have both an Artisan and a U1, and I was looking forward to the iPhone app, but unfortunately it turned out to be completely useless for me. As stated, it cannot connect to the Artisan, but worse, it also doesn’t connect to the U1. I am using the U1 in LAN mode, but the “Discover devices in the LAN” section of the app doesn’t seem to work at all (and I can’t find any way to get the U1 to display a QR code…).

I really hope that the next updates to the app will fix this (both Artisan connection and LAN U1 connection!).

PS: speaking of future updates, I also hope that the next Orca update fixes the camera connection for LAN mode. I keep getting a weird error message with an IPv6 address when I click to start the camera feed…

You can submit a ticket at the same time in case the technical staff or fellow users in the forum don’t respond promptly. Maybe contacting support directly will solve your problem faster.

You can also try the latest version.

Firmware, software, and app changelogs have been released:

Thanks Simon! New versions are always welcome, though as far as I can see after a short test they don’t seem to address any of what is discussed in this thread.

By the way, an actual change log would be very much appreciated (“Optimized login interface / Optimized monitoring functionality / Updated multilingual content for specific fields” is so vague it doesn’t really mean anything…).

EDIT: Actually the U1 camera now works in LAN mode for me (previously I always got a weird error message with an IPv6 address)! This is a huge improvement as my printers are not close to my main desktop workstation; thanks a huge lot to the devs!!
