Initial setup: X Offset Calibration says it saved, but save Y Offset screen just loops

Thanks @Sherry for the info. Really not trying to have to disassemble and reassemble the hotends. haha

I got a reply from Support and they said that from the logs I sent, the default XYZ offset value of the dual extrusion module was changed.

I need to connect the machine to something called pronterface and type in a command.

Going to try and figure this out during my lunch break. I’ll update the thread with what happens.

The pictures do not show anything out of the norm - your nozzles are physically aligned well enough IMHO.

A Facory reste on Artisan I never did (I’m a 2.0 user). On the 2.0 there are two options:

https://wiki.snapmaker.com/en/Snapmaker_2/troubleshooting/reset

The touchscreen option may or may not be the same on Artisan. The second option M502/M500 should work on any Marlin device, incl. Artisan. It will only reset the Marlin part, not the touchscreen, but my assumption would be that it is exactly the Marlin part that has the wrong values stored. Unless you have something special configured on your printer that requires saving before, I’d do the M502/M500 steps. And after that a reboot to be safe.

Hey @Hauke I found Factory Reset under the “Maintenance” option.

I couldn’t get Pronterface to connect to the Artisan, so I’m trying the Factory Reset option. Hopefully this works.

After the Factory Reset

Exactly the same. Going to see if I can get Pronterface working before my lunch break is over.

Hey all! So, I was not able to get Pronterface to connect to the printer with my laptop. I tried everything. I downloaded the driver, I had to unhide the Port in my device manager so I can see the Port Name to put into Pronterface (still couldn’t connect). Apparently newer laptops don’t really have serial ports. I told all this to technical support.

While waiting to hear back, I figured I would download Luban since I would need to at some point. In Luban, I noticed that in the Workspace, there is a console. The whole point of trying to get Pronterface connected was so I could enter in this command into the console:
M2000 F5 X26 Y0 Z-1.5

Somehow my XYZ offset defaults got changed and tech support said I need to run this command to set it back.

While waiting to hear back from tech support, I was able to connect Luban to the Artisan through WiFi and figured I would try and run the command in the console. The response came back “ok”.

I disconnect Luban from the Artisan and reran the XY Calibration.
This time it came out perfect!

I just chose the center for both the X and Y offset values.

The calibration print afterwards came out great from what I can tell.

So yeah, I really appreciate everyone’s help and suggestions.

TL;DR:
I ran this command:
M2000 F5 X26 Y0 Z-1.5
in Luban Workspace’s console while connected to the Artisan via WiFi.
Disconnected and reran the calibrations and everything worked!

It’s interesting how much influence the existing calibration has on a new XY calibration. I would have somehow expected the M502 command to be performed natively before a calibration so that you start “on a green field”.

Thanks for clarifying this, I will also run a 502/500 and start a new calibration. Mine was 1-2mm offset last time.

You should type M500 afterwards to save your configuration, otherwise your change could be lost after restart.

Yeah, let me know if it works out for you. I have know clue what the M#### stuff means. I know it has something to do with commands but have not dived in that deep yet. I let the program generate all the code it needs to print. haha

Thanks @xchrisd . Didn’t know about that command. I turned on the printer this morning and printed this:

And I think it came out pretty good. I did run that command afterwards, just in case. haha

Thanks again.
