Last month, we had the chance to welcome a few of our Super Users from around the world to Snapmaker HQ in Shenzhen as part of our 10th Anniversary celebration.
They spent the week chatting with our hardware, firmware, software, and marketing teams, sharing feedback, exchanging ideas, and joining our internal Maker Faire. It was a great opportunity for both sides to meet face to face after so many conversations online.
Several of them have since shared their own stories about the visit, and we’ve put them together in a blog. If you’re curious about what goes on behind the scenes at Snapmaker, or what the week was like from their perspective, feel free to check it out.
To keep your inbox peaceful, I’m combining two updates into this single post.
U1 Firmware V1.5.2 Beta Testing is Now Available
We know V1.5.0 and V1.5.1 caused more headaches than they should have, and we sincerely apologize for that. To make sure we get things right this time, we’re taking a more cautious approach with the next firmware update.
Now V1.5.2 Beta Test is launched before an oficial release:
This version has actually been shared with a small group of users through technical support channels over the past few weeks, as a workaround for the print quality issues in V1.5.0/V1.5.1. The feedback so far has been quite encouraging. Now we’d like to invite more of you to put it to the test.
V1.5.2 focuses on Bug Fixes:
Fixed an issue introduced in V1.5.0 where, in some cases, the first layer was overly squished when Heated Bed Leveling was not enabled before printing.
Fixed an issue where the nozzle diameter could be incorrect in some cases.
I wanted to trust you and downloaded the new version of snaporca. A huge mistake. I ended up throwing away my filament and was especially scared by the noise my machine was making. I had already printed the same thing before, but with the new version, the purge tower had a snag point where the nozzle got stuck when exiting the tower, preventing a clean return to the parking position. It was horrible.
The last update, version 1.5.0, also caused me major problems. I’ve had enough. I won’t install updates as soon as they come out anymore. And I’m especially tired of wasting filament and time because your updates are flawed.
I would like some compensation, given that I’ve had issues with two updates in a row. I’m not even sure if my nozzle wasn’t damaged from rubbing against the tower like that; at one point, the toolhead was hitting the back-left corner. Total nonsense.
