Filament motor not rotating (but not physically broken)

I’m having an issue where the filament feed motor is not rotating. Identified by going to change the filament, hit Nozzle, waited for the temperature to hit 200° and press Unload, but the filament didn’t move and I couldn’t feel any vibration on it so I opened the door and the gears aren’t moving at all. Neither the Load or Unload directions work. No errors are reported on the control screen, and no errors reported via M2000 S0 on the terminal.

Latest firmwares as of 2/8/2023.

After initial troubleshooting didn’t get anywhere, I ordered a new print head tool which arrived today and is having exactly the same problem.

So it’s probably something about the communications from the controller to the print head. But I’ve checked the cables and the pins all look good on both ends.

Hints or tips on how to get this working again?

Have you tried a factory reset of the firmware and the controller?

I guess you are talking about the single extruder, right?
Did you try extruding with luban control?
Preheat and then
G1 E100 F100

No reaction to that command. Received OK, but no reaction from the print head.

As in activate development mode and then Go to Experiment > Preferences > Reset All ?

Just did that and walked through all of the standard setup and when I get to the load filament stage the nozzle heats up, but the motor still doesn’t turn.

I would try replacing the cable, always worth a try.

I guess support ticket or a new controller is needed.
Maybe this helps you at further testing:

Support ticket opened and a couple of replacement cables ordered (always a good idea anyway). Now in wait and see mode for the next few days.
