Filamant not loading

There is no jam / clog. The issue, I believe, is that the filament roll is too heavy to pull through. It took me a while to figure out that the ‘failed to load filament’ warnings were because of the heavy roll. 1kg. Nothing heavy really. All I have to do is pull a bit of filament off the roll to loosen it and press ‘resume’. All is good until it somehow gets too heavy again. Is the gearing too weak? Can I make it ‘stronger’ somehow. Is there a setting / screw I can tweak to help this issue please?

There were not many people who reported this so maybe your filament on the spool got tangled?
Even very glitchy filament could cause problems, I guess.
But 2.0 user here..

If you try a alternative spool holder like the original position, does the problem disappear?

I agree with Chris. This sounds like a tangled spool.

Were you careful to keep the filament taut at all times, so that it isn’t getting loose or crossing over itself as it slowly unspools?

Tangle is a rookie mistake. I checked that. No tangles.

Maybe send us some pictures of your environment.
