Before the new doors, I was trying to follow what the J1 guys were doing to get around heat creep. Ordered some parts; specifically a E3D v6 heat block and Bondtech CHT nozzles.
Heat block is fairly plug n play for the heat break. Screw it down tight. For the nozzle, you need to heat it and thread it in; it will not go all the way threaded in but it seals with the heat.
Be super careful with torque or order their torque wrench… I snapped one off. Expensive lesson.
Good news is the heat blocks just barely fit. I had to trim the silicon boot (don’t get the pro ones) to fit on the left and right to let the nozzles rise correctly.
Beyond that, heat block seems to heat better and the nozzles are standard BT perfection.
I dunno if any of this is necessary but since I bought the gear I wanted to use it. New door seems effective.

And finished product. Granted. At some points with my original door/nozzles I could do this too. But, looks good and no muss.
I’ll get back to bigger prints and let you know if it helps.

First layer porn. Definitely going down smoother than my normal nozzles. PVA was my main draw to the dual extruder and it’s been challenging to use. It’s similar to TPU in that it’s flexible and sensitive to retraction.
I’ll let you know how it goes.
90% success. So increasing support density seems to be a win for the PVA. I do have a really hard time with curling. The material says a max of 60c… but when I cut the file it selected the bed temp for the PLA… is that because of the ‘adhesion’ option in the bottom left being set to the PLA nozzle?
Always have painters tape around. As I checked it and it curled at the edges I could hold it down with the tape and the printer printed right over it.

I’m trying to get support to send me just the thermister/thermocouple… why do they ask so many questions when you’re specific about what you want
I think the new heater blocks and the nozzle definitely help. I’m going to run something with a little more detail and see if the BT’s give me better layer lines Vertically.
Where do you get the new dual extruder door from?
Did you make a ticket at Snapmaker?
I have got several issues with the beta-feeling Dual-Extruder 1st gen…

Yea. Put in a support request. They’ll make you just through a few hoops and then they’ll give you the link.
