Hey team, snapmaker 2 with dual extruder and snapmaker fillaments here. It looks like I need to calibrate flow and retraction for both fillaments. I did calibrate e-steps. Any suggestions?
Flow temp and retraction to start.
use a non snapmaker alignment model to align the nozzles. Then in cura or prusa type in the difference in the printer extruder set up.
Can get allot closer to nozzle alignment that way. Then the simple pick the best of 10 lines.
Thank you, would you know a link for me to know how to store nozzle alignment manually? I understand that I will print a test model (Dual Extruder Head Calibration improved by walshlg - Thingiverse) and measure errors, I could not find g-cod ecommands to get current values to adjust the offsets.
Dont know how to in luban.
You need to start with the offset line type models. Like the default on snapmaker. So you can actually measure them.
Both prusa and cura have in the extruder setting an x y value for the second nozzle that youbcan input. Then check a setting that is to the effect of āoffset in g-codeā
Thats where you adjust the off set. Its a āprintā, āmeasureā, āadjustā, print, measure, adjust again repeating cycle untill you get as close as you want to.
Currently between the two materials i have when I print. You canāt accuratly measure the edge between the two. But you can feel it with your finger nail. So i belive i have my aligment down to sub <.1mm error.
Will attach photos when i get home
I run temperature tower and retraction callibration to get no stringing on retraction tower. Dual print did not change in quality by much though.i am not sure what to try next?
i had a similar model with similar issues. the first thing i needed was
myA350dxfrontplate.stl (223.9 KB)
it provides a little better cooling. the other thing needed for pla prints is a small fan blowing over the x module if you donāt have an enclosure with a fan
in your example it appears to me that the first layers are āokā. then you get what looks like stringing of black pla but not so much of the white. see if different cooling helps then you can dial in stringing.
I had to increase my wipe tower to 21mm3 and that helped prime the nozzles as they swapped.
