I built my own enclosure for the Snapmaker 2 A350. Can I use the air purifier without the original enclosure and are there any concerns about using the air purifier laying “sideways” in a shelf?
Should be totally fine - the bearings of the Fan will work in all orientations and the air stream isn’t significant affected by gravity.
Just make sure the hose sits airtight at the outlet of your enclosure

It works as aspected.
Since the filter only works with the original electronics of the enclosure, I swap them against a diy-solution. Up to now it is a esp, which reads the poti and sends a pwm-signal to a mosfet. The fan is then driven by these pwm-24V.
I have to change my 50mm riffled hose on the outlet, because it sounds awful.
