Bubblegram creation - variable focus length

Hey guys,

we are thinking of purchasing an artisan but are wondering, whether the focal length of the laser can be set dynamically to produce a bubblegram?

The blue diode laser that comes with all the snapmakers currently cannot touch clear acrylic. Since the laser wavelength is within the visible light spectrum, it passes right through. It also does not have the focal length even if it could.

I see, so even if we would buy the higher power module, it would not make a difference?

I presume that there is no easy way of exchanging the laser diode?

There is not a way to change the diode, nor the focal distance (outside of physically moving the toolhead) but even then, it focuses about 10mm away from the end of the module.

To my understanding, to create such ā€œsculpturesā€ you need two lasers which run orthogonal to each other. Where they cross each other, the added intensity is then high enough to heat the material to create the bubble. But I may be wrong here.
