I’ve been trying to laser cut some boxes. Should be simple right?
It’s been 2 days and I still have yet to have any success.
My latest frustration (among many) with Luban is that it seems to see dashed lines when I import the SVG but when it generates the tool path it just converts it into a solid line.
Has anyone run into this and knows any solutions? I looked into Lightburn but it seems very complicated and I really want the camera calibration feature Luban has.
Figured it out. For anyone using Affinity Designer for creating your laser jobs, after applying a dashed line to the curve in the stroke window. Use the “Expand Stroke” operation. This allows Luban to see the line as separate curves.

I had a similar issue, in Inkscape you work around it by doing the following:
- If not done already, select the object(s), and Path > Object to path
- Then Extensions > Modify Path > Convert Dashes to Path
That will then import into Luban as a bunch of short paths rather than a solid line.
