Only printed not start to mount it
Lol. Well you can add it to the garbage can i suppose. I’m working on a fix
Crazy, but this is funny some more for my duct collection
Yea. That’s nice . I have now made a fix adjustment to both ducts and covers. In particular the left fanduct. The old covers and the old right fanduct should still work…
What version of fans should we buy?
Maybe buy 4 of each? 4020 and 5015. That would cover allow you to use any of the ducts out there atm. My ducts are for 4 x 4020 fans…
Choose the type of fan duct you prefer (one-sided but allowing to switch hotends without much fuss or the two-sided version) and buy the fans you need for it
The type of fan is clear … But there are more manufacturers and there are small differences in performance and even shape … Hence the question!
Ah, I misunderstood your question then
If you need 5015 radial fans, these were tested here: Lüfter-Effizienz selber testen - Lüfter - 3D-Druck Forum
I went for the Sunon Maglev MF5015 and bought a balanced version.
If you want the 4020, I fear I cannot help you though.
Hi everyone,
i was also looking for a better cooling solution for the J1. Most printers will do fine with a single 50mm fan for good results. I thought the J1 should be able to do that too.
I like the compact design of the printhead and the fan should fit in “seamlessly”. I tried several designs and ended up with this one. It also enables better cooling of the extruder motor and also allows more air to the hotend cooler.
It’s not perfect, but it works and by simply clipping the air cap with magnets you have the freedom to attach other air cap designs without much hassle. I printed the parts with ABS like Resin and will upload the parts to Thingiverse if interested.
It works with a 5015 fan and has been a working solution for my prints so far
Looks good!
Wich one has the best performance, the orange 2-way duct or the grey 1-way duct?
Hi, Thanks
The two arm variant (UFO Remix) does not bring enough air mass. The long and angled air ducts have great losses.
I like that, I wanted to try that again too.
Tell me, a 5020 version, would you be interested in doing it again?
I like to print fast and with small objects Brauch you sometimes a little more air and if you do not always have to turn on full, it is also quieter.
UFOs are great here with a good fan
Hi,
i have ordered 2 5020 and want to test them too.
But I think that I will have to change the housing completely because there is very little space at the back in the home position of the print head.
Actually, this should not require more space than my current solution.
Yes, the UFOs work fine, but a regular 5015 fan struggles with the long air ducts and the 90° bend just behind the fan outlet.
I am interested to see it on thingiverse.
Very nice solution, if I become my J1 fixed I will try yours too
