A potential cure for silent print fails and failed wireless transfers

After getting really frustrated by the being unable to transfer a file that I had just transferred and printed the day before and then not being able to print that file from the USB either with no kind of message back. I did a error log dump got a FW_0.log file that contained no useful data. Gave up and starting printing with my new resin printer (messier but less problematic) and eventually came back to this. Tried reprinting local files and smaller files to see if I could get anything to work without any luck.
For grins and giggles, I tried another error log dump to see if I got anything different. This time there was a FW_0.log and a SW_0.log file.
The SW_0.log file contained this usual bit of info:

1647987859722,2022.03.22 22:24:19.722,DEBUG,SC,Start copy file into workspace…
1647987861807,2022.03.22 22:24:21.807,ERROR,SC,java.io.IOException: write failed: ENOSPC (No space left on device)
1647987861813,2022.03.22 22:24:21.813,ERROR,SC,java.io.IOException: write failed: ENOSPC (No space left on device)
1647987861815,2022.03.22 22:24:21.815,ERROR,SC,	at libcore.io.IoBridge.write(IoBridge.java:501)

So apparently when the internal storage on the touchpad gets too full it will quietly fail to print or transfer anything, even stuff that’s already stored locally. And in typical Snapmaker fashion it won’t put anything useful back to the screen or Luban.

This has been known for a long time. You need to perform a factory reset of the TouchPad. See posts about Developer Mode.

Well, it didn’t appear in the FAQ and searching for failure to print didn’t bring it up and when I asked the question here a month ago about it there were no useful responses. So ¯\__(ツ)_/¯

Actually, the first response refers to the issue, but could have included a few more words:

When he said it was too big to SM to handle, he was referring to the file size, not the physical size of the models. If you go into Developer Mode, there might even be an option to delete all of the uploaded files now. It’s been a while since I’ve needed to switch modes.

No, I was referring to the physical size or dimensions as shown on the screen.

I know people have reported having file sizes that were too big.
I haven’t run into that being a problem for me. I have created items too big for the bed and ended up having it not work.

Well, there is a file size restriction too, which is what I thought you were referring to. LOL

no idea if this actually works

mine was not suffering from this so idk if it did what it sounds like
