3D printing issue need help

Attached are three pictures from a video I took of my problem. Could not load video file did not work. I just started use the Snapmaker original printed a few objects no issue went to play a little today and whenever I print the Filament stays stringy or grabs what already started printing. I am sure I am doing some thing wrong but don’t know what.

just added another photo.
Thanks Mike

In the first picture, the filament looks pretty thick. Which print setting / (initial) layer height are you printing at? I’m assuming you’re using Luban.

How tight is the nozzle when you do a calibration? When I calibrate my v1, I slowly lower the nozzle until I can pull the paper, but can’t push it. Then I raise it up one so I can push it. It’s not a great system, but it’s enough that I can start printing better calibration objects.

Is the print bed dusty? I used to have problems with the first one or two prints failing, then they’d work. It turns out my bed was slightly dusty, and the first failed print was cleaning the dust off. I’ve started covering the bed, and haven’t had adhesion issues since then.

Thanks for answering. Yes I am using Luban. Not sure about settings will check tomorrow and get back to you. I tried different settings for the calibration but will try your idea.

I calibrated as you suggested and that worked was able to print. however today went to try another project but the filament just bunches up on nozzle when it starts to print will not lay down a line.print height setting is 0.3mm should this be higher? also does the bed need to be leveled for each project.
Thanks again for your help.
Mike

I generally go about 6 months between calibrations (if I don’t switch tools). The thumbscrews that hold the bed in place tend to loosen a bit with use. I calibrate every time I switch tools, because 0.05mm is not a lot of distance.

All of the system printer settings start with 0.3mm for an initial layer. If you don’t know which setting you used, the default is Recommended, Fast Print. All of the system settings use a slow first layer, so changing between the built in settings won’t change anything about the first layer (ie, it doesn’t matter).

Have you gone through xchrisd’s 3D Print Guide? There are a lot of tips and details in section 3 and 4 particularly.

Thanks again for your help. Will check out the print guide. I hope I am not annoying you with my questions.

No worries, we’re all here to lean on each other. xchrisd just said everything better than I would, with links.
